Corner

"It's so hard to write when the TV is on. I am just too distracted and then my stories echo what I've just seen." I knew Marcia would understand. She loved to write, but had her own struggles. For instance, she couldn't write anywhere but the Corner Bistro. She claimed it had the vibes and caffeine she needed to be successful.

"Turn off the TV," she said.

  1. There's always a smart alec who has all the answers. I'm the same as Marcia. I write best when I'm somewhere public amid the hum of people talking. It's the equivalent of white noise for me. I try to spend a few hours every weekend at my local Starbucks. Even if it's only to write short stories for my blog.

  2. I can write most anywhere, but amid single conversations I get lost. The hum of several conversations, however, is soothing.

I also enjoy writing in complete silence.
