They were few, but each one was incredibly precious. It would be enough time to tell her baby "I love you," to kiss her forehead, and to spread out her fingers before the child died in those few seconds.

Someone I know will be going through this when her child is born within the next week. It saddens me to no end.
I've had to hold a friend while she cried for the same reason. You feel so helpless. Just be there for her and let her talk and cry. She'll be glad you were there. Be strong.
A friend and I started playing a writing 'game' and this is the result. The posts are "Daily Prompt" writings that are very much in rough draft form. I love to receive comments so please leave plenty. I do leave responses so please, check back often!
P.S. I'm very sorry about how messy things are right now. I was gone for a short while and I returned to upgrades and other changes that I don't quite know how to manage just yet. I promise a more visually appeasing space if you can hang out for a while.

ReplyDeleteI believe her husband will be there with her, but my heart continues to break for her. Having my own two children, I can not imagine.....
